Everyone in Seekonk knows the Old Grist Mill Tavern by the rivers edge at 390
Fall River Avenue. They gather daily for good drink, good food, and, of course,
good times. Whether its an anniversary, birthday, business lunch, and hearty
dinner. Or just to feed the ducks.
Most people know that the Tavern is oldreally old. But just how old is a
subject of some debate. Built in 1745 (it even says so on the menu!), it is a
rare relic of Pre-Revolutionary New England designed to grind the grain raised
by nearby colonial farmers. When it opened as a restaurant, we may never know.
No matter. Today, The Old Grist Mill is touted by locals as the supreme New
England tavern featuring everything from steaks and chops to some of the
freshest seafood dishes in all of New England. Our Crab Cakes are legendary, as
is the Baked Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp. Other favorites are Clams Steamed in Garlic,
Onions and White Wine, Boston Scrod, of course, and lobsters served virtually
any way you like them. For a deeper dive into our menu,
